Kanye West Coachella 2011 Part 1 from Dat New Row on Vimeo.
Kanye West closed out Coachella with one of the most theatrical sets ever witnessed in the festival's history. The opening of his Coachella performance took his art and showmanship to a whole new level. Kanye started his set by singing “Dark Fantasy” as he flew over the ignited audience on a futuristic crane while a throng of modern dancers went wild on stage. He then worked his way through the crowd and made it to stage. The rap superstar went into some of his biggest hits including “Jesus Walks” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothin.” When it was time to perform “Monster,” Kanye brought out one of his collaborators, Bon Iver. The true showman ended the night in style by performing almost all of his hits including “Love Lockdown,” “Heartless” and “All of the Lights” among fireworks. Definitely an adequate way to wrap up the festival. See for yourself.Fast, Free Video Hosting & Video Sharing - VideoBam
Yesterday, Wiz Khalifa graced the stage in Indio, California for his first-ever performance at Coachella. Although he was not one of the festival's headliners, the crowd was packed to see the Pittsburgh rapper's 50-minute set. In it, he performed songs from fan-favorite mixtapes including Burn After Rolling and Kush & Orange Juice, as well as material off of his brand new album, Rolling Papers. Also, Wiz dedicated part of his set to none other than the late great West Coast representer Nate Dogg. Check out the performance above!
The Coachella frenzy does not stop as another live set has found its way to the digital realm. This time around, the performance of the Distant Relatives Nas and Damien Marley can be watched in its entirety. They performed hit after hit on Sunday afternoon in what was the only unique combination of rap, hip-hop and reggae in Indio, California last weekend. In addition, the youngest son of Bob Marley turned in some of his father's famed songs as well as other covers which had been well-received by the crowd. Enjoy!
